Monothermic Type - MT

Arceus boilers have two water heating circuits inside and therefore operate both as a space heater (for Central Heating) and instantaneous water heater (for Domestic Hot Water). The operation principle of the boiler is based on heating the water that enters from the inlet of a tank-formed heat exchanger which contains resistor heaters through the outlet. Arceus electric boilers of different capacities contain 3,6 or 9 resistors. Unlike gas boilers which can modulate in small intervals of thermal power input within the range of minimum and nominal power input, an Arceus electric boilers heat modulates in as many stages as the number of electric resistors. Every single resistor is either "off" or "on" in full capacity, so momentary power input of the boiler during operation is simply the sum of the resistor capacities which are turned on.

As the boiler is operated to heat the home through radiators or underfloor heating installation, water coming from the central heating (CH) return connection goes through the heat exchanger tank and gets hotter. The outlet pipe of the tank is connected to the hydroblock and a 3 way valve directs water to the central heating via the central heating node.

For domestic hot water (DHW) heating, the water that leaves the tank is directed to the plate heat exchanger, discharges some of its heat to the other side of the plates and is sent back to the tank by the circulation pump. The plate heat exchangers other side is connected to the domestic how waters inlet and outlet nodes. The water gets heated during transition through the plate heat exchanger and leaves the boiler hotter from the domestic hot water node.

Arceus range rate technology can make the boiler more efficient resulting better ErP rating. e.g. 12Kw Arceus Electric Boiler heating side range rated from 12 to 6 will result in efficiency rating D to B for heating.

Storage Tank (ST)

Storage Tank type electric boilers are sort of a mixture central heating and monothermic type electric boilers. They do not function as instantaneous water heaters but they do keep the water inside an external hot water storage cylinder at a desired temperature. Since domestic hot water (DHW) takes place outside of the electric boiler, in an external hot water storage cylinder, the ST electric boilers do not contain a plate heat exchanger hydroblock. But there is a 3 way valve inside to direct the water towards the external hot water storage cylinder when the water stored inside drops below the set temperature and hysteresis value.
